Details
Servicing here does not affect your consumer guarantees, and manufacturer warranties generally do not require dealer servicing where the work meets the manufacturer's standards. We follow the schedule, use appropriate parts, stamp the logbook and keep the records.
How we service your BMW
- Your manufacturer's service schedule, for your model, year and engine
- Oil carrying your engine's approval code, from Liqui Moly, Penrite, Motul, Castrol, Mobil and Valvoline
- OE-specification filters from Mann, Mahle, Ryco and Bosch
- Service indicator reset
- Logbook stamped and the records kept
- Price confirmed for your car before any work starts
What can change the price
Service schedule
BMW uses Condition Based Service: there is no fixed interval. The car tracks oil, brake pads, brake fluid, the cabin filter, spark plugs and a vehicle check, and tells you what is due. For most owners that works out to about once a year. Your car's own logbook is the final word for your model.
What a generic service misses
- The Longlife grade for that engine
- LL-01, LL-04, LL-12 FE and LL-17 FE+ are not interchangeable. LL-04 in a petrol engine without a particulate filter is the classic mistake in Australia.
- Each job reset in the service system
- BMW asks for every completed item to be reset in the car, so the next due dates it shows you are right.
- Battery registration
- A new battery has to be registered to the car, or the charging system keeps treating it as the old one.
- Brake fluid on time
- The service system calls brake fluid by age, so a car that does few kilometres still comes due.
Needs a scan tool: Condition Based Service reset, item by item · Battery registration · Electronic parking brake service mode · Fault code read
What moves the figure
- How much oil your engine takes
- Engines take different amounts. Yours always gets its full fill, and the price is confirmed for your car.
- The oil your engine needs
- We use the specification your manufacturer sets, from Liqui Moly, Penrite, Motul, Castrol, Mobil and Valvoline. The grade and the brand change the figure.
- Your oil filter
- A less common or dearer filter changes the figure. If a part has to be ordered in, we tell you when we call.
- What your schedule calls for
- Other filters, spark plugs or fluids due at this service are extra items, priced before we start.

Will an independent service affect my BMW warranty?
No. Per the ACCC, independent servicing does not affect your consumer guarantees, and manufacturer warranties generally do not require dealer servicing where the manufacturer's standards are met. We meet the schedule and specification, and document it.
Can you read the service data?
Yes. That is the starting point for the quote rather than an afterthought, and it is why we will often quote less than a flat annual service.
Do you use specification-correct oil?
Yes, matched to the exact engine variant, which is why we ask for it before quoting. The invoice records what was used.
Details
The useful thing about a BMW is that it keeps track of its own service items individually, and the useful thing we can do is read that honestly and quote only what is actually due.
That often means a smaller invoice than an owner expects. It occasionally means a larger one, because something has fallen due that a distance-based schedule would have missed.
We are independent and not authorised by BMW. We meet the specification, record what we fitted, and tell you what the car reported.
